Wandsford in England CC vs Isham Zingari - 12th May 2007

Stuart Hardy and Pete Wildman were the stars for the Zingari, as the team started their season with a win, away to Wandsford in England CC. Looking through the history books, this was the first ever meeting between the two teams.
The start was delayed due to torrential rain but amazing the game started within 30 minutes of the rain subsiding, giving way to glorious conditions. Fielding first Isham were amongst the wickets immediately. Elliott Hayes opened his account for the season taking two wickets in his 4 overs. At the other end, Tom Mullin was making his Zingari debute and was clearly enjoying his outing, also taking two wickets. But it was Pete Wildman who stole the show taking five wickets for just 12 runs, as the home side were dismissed for a meagre 71.

Isham comfortably chased down the target for the loss of just 72 runs – Stuart Hardy top scoring with 44 before being brilliantly ran out by a direct hit, 30 yards away at point. Stuart will no doubt be putting pressure on the selectors to regain his place in the 2nd XI.
