| 18.08.08 - Defeat Number 8 For The Sunday XI |
What have Stoke City, Castleford, Surrey CCC and Isham's Sunday XI got in common? They're all going to get relegated! The Sunday XI's continued drop in form has hit new lows after another defeat to Loddington. The home side were ran away to victory by 80 runs, posting 207 from their 45 overs and then skittling Isham out for just 127 - the final 6 wickets adding just 29 runs with the bat.
The Sunday XI now hover just above the relegation zone having played more games than the teams around them.
One more win however should keep the side up - that fight to stay in division 3 begins at home to Ufford Park this coming Sunday.

| 17.08.08 - 1st XI Just Five Points From The Top |
The 1st XI produced a superb effort to beat local rivals Kettering Town at Orlingbury Road, to keep them in the hunt for promotion to the Premier division. On a weekend when all of the top 5 teams won, it was importaint that Isham also gained a positive result.
Batting first Isham had to post a good total and were bouyed by a guttsy innings from Ben Reid, who remained at the crease for the entire innings. He finished with 56 not out, whilst skipper Simon Court added 79no, and Will Chudley on his return to action hit 39. Rhys Linnell gave the visitors some hope taking 6 wickets.
But it was the 6 wickets that Aussie Josh Kentwell took that provided Isham with the win, as he removed the tail. Gareth Basson (47), Danial O'Callaghan (42) and Rhys Linnell (32) helped to take Kettering close to their target of 241, but they ultimately fell 30 runs short. |
