WEEK 3 RESULTS:

1st XI get first win while 2nd XI  are washed out again.

After both last weeks fixtures were cancelled due to the wettest April on record, the 1st XI got their season running with a win at home against Finedon 2nd XI. Wet conditions throughout the week meant once again playing on a bowler friendly wicket and on loosing the toss it was no suprise that Isham were asked to bat first. Early wickets fell and Isham were soon 24 for 3 and looking in trouble, but the home side added 121 runs before they lost their fourth wicket when opener Ben Reid was joined by Simon Court. Reid was finally removed on 48 with the score on 145. Court went on to make 92 before departing and Isham finished on 177 for 8.  Finedon's innings got off to a bad start as opener Brett was caught and bowled by Court who also removed fellow opener Brown after a quick fire 18. Five of the top 6 batsmen got off to starts but just as they looked like forming an innings they were removed by a combination of good bowling and fielding. Law accounted for Todd while overseas Bodenstein removed Patel and Nunn after they had put on 37 together. Court's direct hit was the end of Swann who was run out for 18. Finedon were now on 98 for 6 and Isham sensed victory. The introduction of new boy James Peel finished the visitors off as his spell of 3 wickets for 2 runs blew the tail end apart. It was left for Dean Adam to take the final wicket with his first ball to seal the 30 point victory.
