RETURN OF THE AUSSIE

Return of the Aussie.

Isham CC can officially announce that Adam Somerfield is returning as our overseas player for the 2010 season. This is a first for Isham CC, as no overseas player has ever returned for a second stint. On both the playing and social side its fantastic news for the club as Adam exceeded all expectations in the 2009 season taking 59 wickets and scoring 536 runs on Saturdays in the County League. On Sundays in the Rutland League he scored a staggering 1305 runs and took 21 wickets. Adam made many good friends at Isham, fitting into the social part of the club and the local scene while working behind the bar At the Queens Arms. Summers has said he’s really looking forward to coming back to both improve his cricket and  meet up with all his friends from last year. He arrives on Tuesday 13th April so will also set a precedent by being the first overseas player to attend our annual dinner on Fri 16th April . Unfortunately the lovely Fern – Adam’s better half, has just started her University course back in Australia so she won’t be with Adam although a visit at some point in the summer might be on the cards. To add to his Youth Coaching duties this year Adam will be taking on a great deal of the work preparing and maintaining the ground.
