The Annual AGM meeting takes place on Thursday 27th Novemver in the clubhouse. All club members are invited to attend to have their vote on all club matters.
The Isham Sunday XI finished champions of Division 5 of the Rutland League to gain promotion and get their hands on some silverware.
The aim of Sunday cricket at Isham is to provide an enjoyable environment that encourages the youth of Isham to play league cricket. This year the Sunday XI had a throughly enjoyable season under the leadership of first time skipper Ollie Brown. Only beaten once during the campaign they were the dominant team in the division while enjoy their cricket and making sure every game was a team effort.
The final game of the season at home to Peterborough, the 1s XI finished with a winning draw, securing them a top 4 finish in the League table on their return to Division 1 of the NCL.
A fantastic second half of the season with 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses meant they lifted themselves from a relegation dogfight to the lofty heights of fourth posistion.
Australian Jake Wilson led the bowling attack with 69 wickets which meant he finished as the leading wicket taking in all 15 divisions of the NCL which was an amazing achievement in his first season in English cricket. He was well supported by Isham new boy - Ellary White with 29 wickets and veteran Andy Law with 26 wickets.
The batting was led by Tim Robinson who smashed his way to 545 runs which included his maiden County League century. Fellow opener Chris Perkins scored a century on the final day of the season to finish with 446 runs, his highest season total for the 1st XI. In all 5 batsmen finished with 300+ runs which showed a real stregnth in depth to the batting line up.
2014 was a real team effort by all involved with every 1st XI player contributing at a vital time during some point of the season. Roll on 2015..........
The 2nd XI had to win their final game of the season at home to Irthlingborough to avoid relegation. In a nerve rattling game they managed to chase down their target of 168 with only 3 wickets left. The result meant they moved above their visitors to finish in a mid table posistion of 6th place.
The season had a real mixture of performances from seasoned veterans like Jim Lyon with 394 runs, Skipper Ben Reid 270 runs and Shaun Wills with 22 wickets combined with fantastic efforts from the youngsters - Sandeep Parmar with 22 wickets and Luke Conyard with his maiden NCL century. In 2015 the 2nd XI will look to build on this combination of youth and experience to mount a promotion challenge.
A pefect way to end John Bilson's reign as Head of Youth Cricket at Isham saw his under 11's win the district cup final at Raunds beating Wollaston in the final and Rushden in the semi. With Wollaston being the only side to beat Isham in the league this year this was another tight game between two well matched sides.
John steps down after 15 years of coaching and managing the Youth Cricket section of Isham Cricket Club. Johns enthusiasm and commitment to the development of young players at Isham has been second to none. A testament to his hard work is that five of the 1st XI team on the final game of the season had come through John's Youth age groups.
